A Surprisingly Unique Site for Elegant Rhone Varietals

Sugarloaf Vineyard sits at the top of the Missoula flood plain in Washington's Yakima Valley at 1000-1250ft. This vineyard boasts multiple soil types from river cobble to clay and Warden Silt Loam at the lower elevations. A wind driven terroir that includes direct West facing slopes and a 45 degree row orientation to balance the effect of the hot afternoons on the fruit during the warmest parts of the season. Dialing in at 3800 GDDs each season, it is well suited to long season varieties that need a little extra heat for the finishing touches.
